Ashby is a rather snobby name, more suitable for a manor than a child. I must admit the somewhat similar Selby is a guilty pleasure of mine (for a boy only).

I know a guy w/the surname Ashby, so I suppose with the current trends it could be used on either sex. TBH, though, I really don't care for it, even as a mn.

I know a woman named Ashby. I've known her since I was little. It sounds so similar to Ashley, I guess it could be unisex in the same way. Though to me it seems like a girl's name, just because I'm so used to it as her name. I've never met a male Ashby, or any other Ashby for that matter.

My friend was named after a street or neighberhood near UC Berkeley. Both of her parents went to school there.

I think Ashby is a cute middle name for a boy, i could even like it as a first name. I think its horrid on a girl.
