Sadly I agree with sould. I immediately think of a computer geek (of course the wonderful and amazing Bill Gates). Not the most feminine image! Then there is garden gates...not good! But I do agree with you. I kinda like it. It's certainly very cool actress-y!

Microsoft homage than a name to me. I wouldn't use it. I don't find it to be particularly aesthetically flattering, either.

I guess that it's Gates McFadden (Dr: Crusher on Star Trek: TNG) you think about. Gates would be her mn, since her fn is really Cheryl.

She was a muppeteer and movement coordinator, for Jim Henson, before moving really into acting.
