Salamanca reminds me of Salamanda! But it does sound cool
Names I would consider using because they are from books:
- Scout
- Ophelia (Hamlet)
- Gemma (A Great and Terrible Beauty)
- Hermione (Harry Potter)
- Arwen (LOTR)
- Lilith or Delilah (the Bible...I am not Christian but I see them as strong women who questioned authority and conformity)
I am more inclined to name for female authors I admire though such as Harriet Beecher Stowe, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Christine de Pizan and Margaret Atwood.
