WDYT of the name Erna, prononced air-na, but "air" is shorter than the English word. Not ur-na or ir-na.
I used to find it old fashioned but it's a family name and it's slowling growing on me.

Never heard it before...
But people will always say "UR-na," and that makes me think of urns for cremated ashes. It also reminds me of Irma, which is somewhat unflattering.

That makes sense, sorry, I didn't know. I don't dislike the name at all, especially with the French pronunciation, but if in America, it would be listed as "dowdy," I think. :(

I dont mind it, probably better as a middle name. I like Ernesta, Ernestine/a more however.

In Denmark...
...it's a granny name.
So for that reason I don't like it for todays children. We do have a boost of old fashion names here, but I don't think that will come up, because it'll just be poor little thing if meeting a little girl named it these days.
