[Opinions] DILEMA!!
My little sisters name is Amy Jay Rebecca Simpson. I really like the name Jay for a boy , would it be wrong to name my son that? My little sister is only three so I can't rally ask her if she would mind.

I think Jay is a pretty name! Maybe you should ask your parents if they would mind.

I don't see why you couldn't, it's only her middle name, one of two, after all. She might really like that her nephew has one of her names.

Well, you could say that you were honoring her and it make more sense than naming the boy Amy. :)

I don't think there's any real objective "right" or "wrong" for this kind of thing -- it's just what's acceptable in your family. Your sister may be too young to offer her input, but surely you've got other close relatives (namely your parents, but also siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles) who would have a better sense than we do. It definitely wouldn't be okay in my family, but there are many families in which it would be just fine. :)-- Sarah

I don't think it's a problem. (I mean you call her Amy, not Amy Jay or something, right?)I love the name Jay, btw :)Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

yeah thats another point we do tend to call her Amy Jay. I personally dont mind using it I would be comfortable with it but its when Amy grows older she may not like it and could get teased for it. =s

I don't think there'd be anything wrong with it, no. However, it depends on whether you'd be okay with it, and whether it's acceptable to honour family members in your family--not on whether or not a complete stranger gives it the thumbs-up. ;)I would say go for it, because I think Jay is an extremely handsome name for a boy.Array (an Amy Rae :D)
