[Opinions] Noelani
I really like the hawaiian name Leilani, but it seems to be getting a little trendy. I think Noelani would be a beautiful alternative. Opinions on the name? Also, would Noelani seem strange in a sibset with no other Hawaiian names?

I think Noelani is every prettier than Leilani. I like it... if you pick the right names, it won't seem too weird in a sibset.

It's definately a good twist on Leilani. However, I'm not sure many would know how to pronounce it (myself included). It might be strange, depending on the other names. Definately if the other kids were something like Jennifer or Michael or something else popular; but not if they were more obscure or similar in sound like Araceli or something.*laurel*

i LOVE both names!but i agree Leilani is getting really trendy lately. but i dont think Noelani will stand out with names that aren't Hawaiian. You could have the nn's of:Noel /Noelle
Lani /Lonnie
etc and all the others you can think of!

I love the name...and I love Leilani as well. They are both beautiful... I would only use either as a middle name. I really like Leilani as a middle name for Malia.
I love Hawaiian names...I have one combo thats all hawaiian on the girls side and none on the boys.
Its your preference, really if you think about it.Samantha

I love that! I don't think I've ever heard it. I think it would depend on what the rest of the sibset was. If it was Emily, Catherine and Noelani it might stand out... but if the other names were equally unusual I think it would work. Some Arabic, Asian and Greek names might have similar feel.Britney Tamber
