[Opinions] Linden/Lyndon
I like the names Lyndon and Linden but the spelling Lyndon reminds me too much of Lyndon B. Johnson who isn't exactly my choice in namesake. Do you think Linden could be used on a boy? It's not the most common name so I don't know how "girly" of a name people view it as. Should I just suck it up and use Lyndon and not worry about the LBJ connection? Or should I just not bother and use Linden for a girl instead?

Lyndon is my granfather and my aunt's middle name. My grandfather doesn't like the association with LBJ either, but I actually rather like the name Lyndon. I wouldn't worry about the LBJ association if I were you, if you like it that much then use it : )
I prefer the look of Lyndon over Linden. I think that Linden works better on a boy than a girl.

IMO Linden is unusual enough that it could be used for a girl or boy name. It sounds more masculine than feminine to me, but I like boy's names on girls. The Lyndon spelling is a little much fo me too.
Bottom line: The spelling Linden is best and is great on a boy OR a girl.

I think it would be fine to use Linden on a boy b/c it is unusual. When people hear it, despite the spelling, they will likely think of LBJ.

I think that either spelling would work for a boy if you like the name. If the LBJ connection is too strong for you, I think that the Linden spelling would work fine.
I think Linden would work well on a boy since this isn't a name that I particularly think 'belongs' more to one sex than the other, at least as far as its sound or my own associations are concerned. Lyndon reminds me of LBJ, too, which isn't the worst thing, but it's not something I'd really strive for. :-/ And if it bothers you, that's a pretty good reason to avoid it. I say go with Linden if it's what you like because I agree that it being uncommon makes it fairly versatile.
