Well, (When I'm talking in French because there's a popular book with the main character with this name) I usually pronounce it as Nah-o-mee. I don't use it that often in English.

I also wouldn't necessarily say that there's a correct way to pronounciate because people who speak different language have their own pronounciation rules for these things and we can't go around the world telling them that this is the correct way to do it either because there language sometimes wouldn't have known such a syllable was possible.

As far as I remember (all my books are in boxes now) in the Hebrew bible it is NOH-oh-mee.

I believe that the UK pronunciation used to be NAY-o-mee and the US one nay-OH-mee; not at all sure if this is still true, if it ever was.

Here in South Africa we go the nay-OH-mee route.

As an Australian, I'm accustomed to pronouncing it na-YOE-mee. Pretty much everyone else I know pronounces it that way.

But in Japanese, there is an even amount of stress on all syllables. There is no exaggerated amounts of stress on all of the syllables, resulting in na-yo-mi. There is no 'YOE' sound at all.
