[Opinions] Annaleashaouisa?!
I met a girl who is in the same grade as my friend's little sister, and she seriously has the name Annaleashalouisa. The poor girl is only about 8 years old, and she's Croation, so she has one long name to contend with for the rest of her life.
WDYTO combining fn's with mn's? Acceptable or not?
I also knew a girl named Hannielle. Her parents couldn't decide whether to call her Hannah or Danielle, so instead of using one as her mn and one as her fn, they combined and got Hannielle.

Wow.... any name with more than ten letters is too long, and this just takes the cake. Hannielle isn't that bad, though, it's kind of cute I think, but Annaleashfjisafioshfaioa is nms.

Double names are fine, I went by a double name for the most part of my life- Jordan-Anne up until I was about 16. Now I use them as seperate names. So names like Mary-Kate and the like are wonderful. I know it is up to the parents, and I'm not the most likely person to pick a more original name anyway, but Annaleashalouisa just struck me as odd, and a little too wacky.
Of course, she isn't my child so really, it's none of my business. :) I just like to see what other people think!

Well, it is just like naming your kid Mary-Kate, but in this case Annaleasha-Louise. It is kinda cute and definately unique.
Combining *two* names is an old tradition . . .
I'm very fond of many old-fashioned and/or Germanic combined names, such as Anneliese, Hannelore, Greteliese, Heidelise, Annabelle, Annemarie, Christabel, Rosanna, Rosemary etc.
But *three* names? Anna, Aleasha and Louisa did nothing to deserve being mashed together like that.
I would have left out Aleasha / Alicia and named her Anna Louisa (double first name).

*confused* But I thought
it was a combination of Anneliese and Louisa, only just a really scrambled version of Anneliese. I mean, I see the sh, but could that be a variant pronunciation?

but Anneliese is already
a combo of two names. So tacking on Louisa makes it 3.

It's possible, I suppose . . . (edited)
I've known a number of girls named Aleasha, Aleesha, Alisha etc as variants of Alicia, so that's what stood out to me. And I've never heard anyone pronounce Anneliese as an-uh-LEASH. On the other hand, if someone Italian pronounced Annelise without transliterating it as Annalisa, they might say it an-eh-LEE-sheh.
Edit: now I'm second-guessing my Italian pronunciation, and my Italian books are at home. I could be wrong!
It's possible!
My argument still stands though :-P Anneliese is a combination name already, so it'd be mashing Anne, Liese and Louisa together.

Belay that . . .
I was getting the rules for 's' and 'c' mixed up. If it was Annelice it would be an-eh-LEE-cheh, but it doesn't work quite the same way for 's' into 'sh'. It's been a long time since I studied Italian!

I've known a lot of people with combined first-middle names, and I really think that it should be up to the parents, and, later, to the child. Once they reach a certain age they will decide if they want to go by all names or by something shorter. It's really a personal thing, not something that should be deemed acceptable or not.
Oh my God! I feel sorry for that girl. The upside, however, is that she has a looooong range of nicknames to pick from! Also, she'll probably go by a nn for most of her life. Nobody wants to go to Starbucks and order a Frappucino and say their name is Annaleashalouisa when the cashier asks.
At least, I wouldn't.
I don't like combining FNs with MNs, although I have had fun doing it in my head and come up with some funny ones! Hannielle isn't SO bad, but it's not too great.
But I'm not the only one."
