It's okay, seems a bit dated. At least, the Carla/Karlas I've known have been near middle-aged.
Carla seems to work best with a simple, plain middle name: Ann, Beth, Dawn, Faye, Grace, Jane, Jean, Jo, Joy, June, Kay, Marie, Mae, Michelle, Nicole, Rose, Renee, Rae, Sue.
