[Opinions] Laureen (Nope, not a typo!)
Today was my first day of classes, and I have a new teacher, who's first name is Laureen! I thought it was a typo at first but nope, she introduced herself as Laureen! It thought it was a bit odd. A combination of Lauren and Maureen, perhaps?Despite thinking it was odd... I kind of liked the sound of it. I wouldn't use it, it's still a bit weird to me, but I like the way it sounds. So, no combo suggestions or anything, just mentioning the name as a point of interest. WDYT? Ever heard it before? Thanks! : )

This is my mother's middle name. I think it's fine enough, especially as a middle name, though she has never cared for it and always thought it sounded too much like 'latrine' ;)

I've heard it before, my aunt has the Dutch version of this name: Laurien, the pronounciation is somewhat the same. I see it as a legit name, I like it. Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Laureen is ok, but it's not one that I would use. I really like Lorraine though.

I think it's really pretty, and yes, I've heard Laureen before. I love -een names (Laureen, Doreen, Maureen, Noreen, etc.) in general; I think they're really nice. Array

I like Noreen! I'd forgotten about that one!I don't like Doreen, just don't like the Dor- part, and my mother has a "thing" against Maureen. When i was born, she told the nurse I'd be a Julia, and the nurse (who was apparently kind of snitty) said "She doesn't look like a Julia. She looks like a Maureen."Probably not the best thing to say to a hormonal lady! Anyways, since then, my mom has hated that name! When I saw RENT I started likeing it, but I could never really use it.But you're right, the -een names have a nice sound. I love the name Irene.Maybe it's becuase I don't like the name Lauren, and the relatively newness of the name (to me). Oh well! Maybe it can grow on me!
