[Opinions] Lochlyn
I saw this in the credits of a movie, I was like, oh my goodness, I am pretty sure it is supposed to be a female version of Lachlan. What do you think?

Lochlyn Munro
If you are referring to the Canadian actor Lochlyn Munro, he is male.

Lachlan and Lochlan are fine, but Lochlyn? No.

Wouldn't this be pronounced differently to Lochlan? lock-LIN, as opposed to lock-LAN?
It's fymynyn!
Don't you see? Replacing all the vowels with y's makes it feminine! You know - Jordyn, Addisyn, Gavyn, Jayms, Ashtyn, Franklyn... they just ooze femininity, thanks to my favourite letter in the alphabet!
Try this at home, kids!

Blech. Hideous.
Ditto Array with the Ick thing... But adding more
First off: Ick. That must be said. It is a male name with a y in it, and doesn't belong on a girl in my opinion.
That said, I love Lochlan or Lachlan on a boy. It's a great name, but the tryndee y ruins it. It doesn't even sound all that feminine.

Ick! Why make a nice name into something trendy and cutesy?

I like it. It sounds really pretty and feminine actually. I'm not violently against anti-made up names and though lots of people on the board are, I don't think that is a good composite to be equated with the publics feelings about "made-up" names. Most people think it sounds pretty or it doesn't. The average person doesn't know whether every single name is real or madeup and they probably don't take the time to look it up and find out. Lochlyn is a great idea.

What's funny is, the Lach- part means "lake," and the "lyn" part also means lake.
I think it's sort of unattractive with the Y, and if it's a female, the Y seems like an excuse for using a BNOG. It's better than a girl named Lachlan / Lochlann etc, though.
