[Opinions] Nat (b)
I really like the sound of Nat for a boy, but I'm having trouble thinking of a full name for it because Nathan's too popular and I really dislike Nathaniel. Any ideas? I was right to assume it'd need a longer name, right?

I think that if you like it as a name, it doesn't need to be a nn. IMO, even though I do think of Nat King Cole (I had a song of his in my head all day today!), I really just think of gnat.I think Renato would be a good name for Nat. Or maybe: Ignatz, Donatello, Donat, Bernat, Atlas (kind of like using Ted for Edward), Athol, Atticus

I used to love Nat as a nn for Nathaniel for a boy, but I don't like Nate/Nathan very much (which seem to be more common nn's for it) and then Nathaniel has gotten much more popular lately, too. :-/ That and I've met a lot of Natalies over the years, incl. a couple I'm not terribly fond of. :b Yes, I think Nat should be a nn, but I wouldn't use a name you didn't like just so you could use the nn Nat. If you LOVE Nat, then just name him Nat, in that case. Some suggestions for names Nat could be a nn for:
Natan
Anatole
Anatoli
Donatello
Donatien
Ignatius (in a round about way...)
Jonathan - though this is very popular, too
Ionatan - no clue on pronunciation, though
Renato
Renatus
Thanatos
Yonatan
