Oh my... Puma? As in the shoe? And the wild-cat? My uncle has a stuffed puma in his basement. I think it's incredibly odd as a real name and you will get quite a few funny looks.
Though none of the "names" you listed are horrible... (I actually like Cougar, probably because of John Cougar Melloncamp lol) except one:
BISON. I'm really hoping you only like it for the sound because to name a child after the animal bison... that's like calling them Wooly Mammoth.
