I know someone having a baby. They know it's a boy, and thinking of naming it Jacob Robert S nn Jake, and Robert for his father. WDYT?

I LOVE Jacob! It is my nephews name! And Jake is cute too! I like the name Jacob Robert it flows well!

I don't like either name. Jacob is incredibly boring and overused; it seems like one of those names that's used when you just can't find anything else. Niether name sounds appealing to me because I think the -ob sound is terribly ugly. Particularly when placed at the end as in Jacob, the sound it makes seems very "chubby" (for lack of a better description).

I didn't used to like the name Jacob, but it's grown on me a lot, lately. It is quite popular, but it also has a lovely sound, and certainly appeals to a lot of people. Jacob Robert is, yes, a little common, but still nice.

Boring and way, way too overused. He's going to have to suffer through being Jake S his entire life. By using Robert I don't think they could make that kid's name any more boring if they tried. If I had to name my kid Jacob he would at least have an interesting middle name.
