Hmmm... I like it better as a last name. However, it sounds very noble either way. Sir Callahan something-or-other... ROTFL!Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!!!

It's the name of the town in Florida where I live.

Pretentious surname.

Well, better than for a girl, at least. :b I'd prefer it as a mn or if it was a family name, but the nn Cal is a big draw for me at least. :) However, it's the name of a small town in my area that is considered very "backwoods", so it doesn't have the greatest association for me. You'll commonly hear people say things like, 'Oh, he probably drives a pick-up truck with a rebel flag on it and lives in Callahan or McClenney.' I even get more of a Southern accent when I say it. LOL.

Oh dear. I hope I didn't insult you. :-/ I live in Jacksonville, btw. I have a cousin and a few co-workers in Callahan, and they all proudly claim to be rednecks. :b

Nope, no insult here. Callahan is a SMALL hick town. I moved from Middleburg over the summer. We needed a bigger house and to be closer to DH's work in Amelia Island. God knows, we can't afford a house there! lol

Haha, well I wouldn't call my son Callie. We've had too many calico cats that I've called Callie. You may however be pleased to know that I actually know a guy named Callie, and that is his full name.
