The two names that ring a bell:
Amschel sounds like the misspeling/alternative of the popular Anshel (from the German Anselm, I think)
Zawel sounds like a version of Saul/Sol/Shoel etc. Szawel (sha-vehw)is the Polish biblical version of the name Saul (but only the New Testament one - ie St. Paul, not King Saul)
Are you familiar with the Jewish Given Names Data Base?
