I think of Maria from Twelfth Night, because in the production I saw, her name was pronunced identically to Mariah.
Then I think of the Black Maria (also pronunced identically), the name of a band. I don't know their music (I saw an ad for their latest album in AP a while ago, is all), but their name always stuck with me as being really cool.
There is Mariah Carey, of course, but she's not my first association. I think it's a really great name.
