The name of a local supermarket check-out girl. I have always wondered how it sounds, and today i finally heard it aloud.
It is pronounced like Sha-Meer

Nah.
I don't like it. It looks too much like Chimaera, and that's not great baggage to be stuck with.

Makes me think of Chimaira, the fire-breathing half-lion, half-goat, half-snake monster from Greek Mythology. But I really like that monster, so...
