In the US, students can get Stafford loans from the government to help pay for college: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stafford_loan
That's what I immediately associate the name with, so I don't find it particularly scintillating. But it's fine for someone else--especially someone in Australia. :)
Of your combos, I like Stafford Alasdair best. I'll try and think some up later, since I've got to run right now.
