Maeve - I love this one and have for some time. One of my favorite authors is Maeve Binchy. It sounds like a spunky Irish girl.
Roma/Romy - eh. It's nms.

I actually really like both of them. Maeve is one of those names that I'm secretly in love with.
I like both names, especially Maeve, but I'm a bit confused as to how they might combine your Irish and Norwegian heritage... Maeve is Irish, but Roma is Itallian, as far as I know.

Maeve means "intoxicating" (as you probably know), and I imagine any girl named Maeve to fit that description: mysterious, independent, interesting. I imagine a girl named Romy to be bubbly and high-spirited. Here are some of my favorite Irish & Norwegian girls' names, in case that helps at all...

Maeve is just lovely. It's cool, strong, and nicely mysterious, no mention of being absolutely gorgeous. Hence, I'd imagine a girl called Maeve to display these qualities, too.
Roma is pretty, too. Makes me think of an intelligent, sophistocated, sensible person. I really like the NN Romy, too - though I ultimately prefer it as a NN for Rosemary.

I like both names.
