Gamaliel the son of PedahzurHi Maria ,There is one more named Gamaliel in the bibel, whom you can read about in the Old Testament in the fourth book of Moses (Numbers).
His name is mentioned specifically in chapter 1, 2, 7 and 10.-Selwyn

According to Rev. Roswell D. Hitchcock who wrote his now-famous Bible Names Dictionary back in the 19th century, "Gamaliel" means either "recompense of God" or "camel of God".http://www.livingweb.com/library/projects/hitchcock/g.htm-- Nanaea

Checked www.livingweb.com/library/projects/hitchcock/n.htm but - as I suspected - Hitchcock was probably too stumped with Nanaea :)

I think the good Reverend Hitchcock was a Protestant Christian , and the second book of the Maccabees (in which my namesake appears) most likely wouldn't have been in his bible. It appears in the Jewish Tanakh, however -- and I think (but I'm not sure) in Roman Catholic bibles. Is it in Greek Orthodox bibles, too?BTW, I checked for my name, too, on that website. Just in case. :)-- Nanaea
