I don't know enough sets of twins to be able to say anything about trends in naming them. Personally I'd give twins whatever two names I liked most. I don't think I would purposefully make them "twinny," but if you find my taste boring, literary, old-fashioned, or whatever else you very well might think I was aiming for a theme.
My very favorite names tend to reflect a similar style anyway, I think, so if I named twins they'd probably be more alike than otherwise. I wouldn't use completely different styles because that's not what
I am into, you know? It'd be too darn bad for them if they thought
Elizabeth and
Rachael somehow constituted ungodly themey twin names. :-)
