[Facts] American version of Medard
An ancestor from Lathuy, Belgium has the name Medard
I am wondering if it was Americanized into something else or if there is a common version of it in America.
I did not find the name in the database search, nor the message board search.
Thank you, in advance

Medard is a name used occasionally in my area, French-speaking New Brunswick (Canada.)
I don't know if this has an 'American version', I don't think it has actually, it means 'gathering place' (madel) + 'firm, strong' (hard) if you're interested :)
