What do you think of the nn Jian (pronounced GEE-en) as a nickname for James Ian?

I thought it was a Chinese name. Sure, nns are the place to let your imagination soar. It might not be easy to get others to use it, but if you like it go ahead.

Ditto. mI, too, thought it was an Asian name at first. While I also agree with Bear that NNs are a better place to get creative than full names, I think this one is bordering on tacky. With the constant use of these sorts of NNs for celebrities in today's media (K-Fed for Kevin Federline, J-Lo for Jennifer Lopez, LiLo for Lindsay Lohan, etc.), it seems like a forced attempt at trendiness.
Magnanimous Despair alone could show me so divine a thing, where feeble hope could ne'er have flown, but vainly flapped its tinsel wing.
