[Opinions] Re: Peth Australis BA
in reply to a message by Jo
Australian BAs are always interesting to me, because I don't know much about Aussie trends first-hand. Here, there are a few names that are just like English favourites (Harry, Poppy, Oliver Jake), some pointedly Irish / Scottish ones (Declan, Hamish, Aidan, Duncan) and then some that I always think of as purely American names (Tate, Riley, Kaleb, Tyler) ... And some that seem like exclusively Australian favourites (Jai, I'm sure I've seen that in several BAs, and Kirrily, though not in this list, is another one.) Plus the usual classics, William and Matthew etc. It's an interesting mix :-)Anyways, rambling thoughts over ... These are the names / combos I especially like or dislike:Love:
Abraham
Alexandria
April
Asha
Buffy (much prefer it as a nickname)
Darcy
Emilia (not paired with Sofia, though - too sing-songy)
Kaleb
Saskia
(Bored by all the mns May, though ... It must be the Aussie answer to our Louise and US Grace.)
Portia
Tamar GraceHate:
Isabella Grace / Aaron John / Harry James / Oliver James / George Arthur Charles / Mary Katherine / Abbie Rose / Rachel Elizabeth / Emma Jae / Charlotte Louise / Matthew James / Aidan Robert - As combos, these leave me completely numb. Boring, boring.Daisy - still a cow's name to meJorja Tania - This spelling wrecks Georgia, and I've always thought Tania sounded icky.Kirby - kirby grip!Tyler Brook - Ick. It's all surnames ... Since I presume her surname is a surname too :-bRiley - Two of these :-( It's trendy beyond belief ... I see one has a brother called Kaiden, which doesn't surprise me in the least. Just makes me grateful it's not Rylea.Kade Adrian - Sounds silly, cos Kade rhymes with the start of Adrian. (I do like Adrian though.)
