[Opinions] Ruxi
I know, I've been posting a lot lately. Many apologies. ;)
I'm really digging Ruxi (ROOKS-ee, just like Ruby with an X) as a nickname for Ruxandra right now, but I'm curious to know if you all think it's too nicknamey to be a full name.
Could it stand alone? If you met a young woman named Ruxi, what would you think? And would you prefer Ruxi as a nickname or as a full name?
Thanks. :)

I want to be be more like a river--
Less like a wall--
Not trying to hold back these feelings at all.
A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

I think it looks a bit 'porn star' to me as a full name, and I don't usually say that!
But I love it as a nn.

I really, really like it. I think I mentioned that earlier. I thought about it a little, and realized it sounds like one of my sister's friends. They quite often have these beautiful, vowel-heavy names from foreign languages that are not necessarily spoken by them (or any of their ancestors)...which I think can really work in some cases (Hamza is close to my #1 boy name, after all). I prefer Ruxandra nn Ruxi...I think unusual nns are even better when they have an unusual fn with a neat history to go along with them. And just for the record, the friends of my sister (who is 16 and named Zoë, and no, we're not Greek, though she was named after a Greek family friend), whose names I associate with Ruxi are: Nayiri, Zekiyyah, Sarai, and Linnea.
I actually really like it and think that it could easily stand on it's own.
It's sounds a tad like a video- game name though.
Niow that I've brought that up I can give you an example. In a game aclled Kingdom Hearts II there is a character called Roxas. Well two of my freinds who graduated high school about 4 years ago just had a child. They are both very into video games and named the child Roxas. I love the name and doubt that many people would know the association but it just sounds like on of those video game names, so you may want to watch out for that. I also am aware that you aren't planning on naming a child that.
