It is an island off the coast of south america. It is a hot there and resembles arizona. Very desert like.
I'm middle eastern and I've never heard of Aruba as a name. maybe you heard "arba'a" which is the number four (but that isn't used as a given name either).
Aruba is an island and the meaning of the name of it isn't sure. Some theories are:
- A combination of the Carribean words oro and oubao meaning: "shell" and "island".
- The Guarani-Indians called it oirubae which means "companion"; the island was seen as a companion of Curaçao (Another island)
- Derived from the Spanish oro hubo meaning: "there was gold".
- The name of an area around Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela "Oruba", where some of the original natives to Aruba came from.
- Derived from the word uru, which means "canoe", making it "canoe-island", because it was only reachable by canoe.
I don't know if Aruba means something in Arabic, I've never heard it used as a name for a person.
