I've thought about it often, and it's occasionally been on my list. Would you pronounce it lah-RA or lar-A? I like them both, prefer the former. It's really a very pretty, simple, uncommon name.

Currently my favorite pronunciation of Lara is much like the one given in this name's entry (for English) on this website: LAHR-a. However, I have heard of some others that I like too.
