I see what you are saying, and in the sense of how you explained it, I agree. However, Anthony isnt Italian, so if you are set on using something to stay true to your heritage, Anthony may not be the choice either.

I would be refreshing to hear Antonio on an Italian. I do know there are quite a few non-Italian Antonio's out there, but I dont think that should stop you from using it. It doesnt make the name less Italian itself.

All in all - since your agrument seems to be staying true to your heritage, I dont see why you prefer Anthony other than its less popular. Its English though (from what I know), so how is using it staying true to your heritage?
