[Opinions] Elgin
My friend has a picture in her myspace of a cousin named Elgin. I looked it up, and it's not in BtN. Does anyone know if this is a real name? What do you think of it?my friend has a made up name, so I'm not sure if this one is real...her name is Ameryn (AM-ryn, or AM-err-in), what do you think of that one as well?

I have heard of it before, actually. I knew a little boy when I was about 4 or 5 and he was Filipino, his name was Elgin. I haven't heard it since, though. Can't say it's terribly attractive sounding, but there's at least one other person in the world that has that name. :b

Elgin is a suburb of Chicago. It's also a Scottish noble family and various other towns here and there. The family seems to be pronounced with a hard G, the suburb with a soft G.Sorta odd for a person.

ThanksWell, maybe it's in relation to the suburb then, Ameryn goes to school in Chicago, so she may have relatives there...I thought it odd, too
