I think it is fine for a boy. I think of Ashton and Asher as boy's names. I am not crazy about it though because it is madeup.

I've never heard of this name. Call me a pessimist (I suppose I am!) but I think people will think it's a mispelled version of Ashley and will assume it should be a y whenever they see the r.

No, it doesnt' really sound like Ashley. It just sounds made up, and will probably get confused with Asher.

I love Ashley for a boy so it doesn't bother me. Ashler sounds like little Asher has a lisp, and can't say his name right. Asher is a lot better IMO.

I actually prefer Asher to but when I heard of Ashler I wanted to see what others thought of it as well. But Asher and Ashley I heard of. When I heard this name I thought it was definately different. But it did remind me of the name Ashley.

I like the name Asher, but Ashler makes me lol.

I find it supremely unattractive and rather difficult to say. Asher is sounds much better to me.
