[Opinions] Ami...WDYT?
Ok, I don't mean the girl's name as a variant of Amy. Anyone seen Miami Ink? Well the main guy on there. He is of Jewish background born in Iran I think. Prn. Ah-mi or Army (For me my New Zealand and Australia accents mix and produce different sounds at different times)So wdyt? At first when I saw it, I'm like, um Ami (prn. A-me) on a guy? lol But after thinking about it, I am starting to like it a ot more. But I am worried that if I use it (which in the long run I don't think I will) that people will always think it is A-me. Specially since I had never heard of it before. If I did use it, maybe as a mn for Isaiah?lol i get carried away, basically, WDYT?

I actually really like it. It's different, but I think that it wouldn't take too long for people to get it right.

I have a friend named Ami (yes, the Amy way). Ami Ann actually. I think a lot of people would get it confused with Ami / Amy.

I like it as a nickname for Amitav. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amitabha)Prople would probably get the pronunciation right after being corrected once.

Hmm...I have seen Miami Ink, and it is pronounced Ah-mee. I like it, but I also dislike it because of the association with the French word for friend. So, basically it is as if you are naming your kid friend...but without that association I think it is cute and shouldn't be pronounced as A-mee. I do think it would be better as a mn though.
