The only names I know meaning "thankful" are Arabic or Hebrew.
Jadon
is from the Hebrew 'yadown'= thankful but it is used in Europe.
John
,
Joanna
,
Jane
(all the forms of Iohannes)are European forms that stem from Hebrew, meaning 'God is gracious'.
