[Opinions] Carlisle
What do you think of this as a fn, for a boy obviously? If you dislike it, any suggestions of what you like more? Also, haha, any mns you can think of? Thanks so much.

I love Carlisle, always have.
It's used as a girl's name in an old Ngaio Marsh book.

I live in Carlisle, PA. ;)

I know someone with the ln Carlisle, so it would be a little weird as a fn. Carter/Carson is more my style.

I think it's a good choice - has a lovely sound and not too common.
How about spelling it Carlyle (like the surname of the famous British writer Thomas Carlyle)?
Carlisle is the name of an English city - Carlyle seems more of a person's name to me.
It also naturally invites the nicknames Carl/Lyle if need be.

Carlisle seems too surname-y for me, but I wouldn't mind so much to see at as a first name. Even though the names aren't related to Carlisle, I'd much prefer Charles or even Carl. Some middle names:
Carlisle Isaac
Carlisle Peter
Carlisle Frederick
Carlisle Thomas
Carlisle Frank
Carlisle Vaughn
Carlisle Edward
Carlisle David
Carlisle Nathan
Carlisle Victor
Carlisle Adam
Carlisle JoaquinNow that I've tried to make combos, I think it would sound much better as a middle name. If you reverse any of those suggestions, they sound much better than if Carlisle were the first name.

I'd much rather just see Lyle or Carl. Carlisle just strikes me as one more in a long like of surname names that aren't going date well.Array

Wow, way to go me for not clicking on the name. I knew it was male but didn't realize it was actually a surname. I've never run across anyone with it as a last name before either, but I know what you mean. I had just been looking at my friend's book, Twilight, and one of the character's names was Carlisle, and it started me thinking. Thanks again. :)
