[Opinions] Re: Lorelei
in reply to a message by Leona
I quite like it, though it's somewhat trendy. The sound is nice, and the history is very interesting and appealing in a weird way, even if it's not the happiest. The meaning isn't the best, but the history and pretty sound outweighs the meaning in this case, for me at least.I can't abide the ignorant misspelling of Lorelai. I simply can't stand it. Especially now that it's so popular because of Gilmore Girls. Oh how I wish the producers had at least spelled the name right! (In fact I even named a girl in my first FF Lorelei Osaka, purely as a form of protest against Lorelai.)I really don't think Lorelei needs a nn. The only one I can think of that's not a ridiculous stretch is Lori, or Rory, and I don't care for either nn. (Though, if the child herself chooses either nn, that's fine with me.)Miranda
