[Facts] name update
I just updated the name database. See this link for details:
http://www.behindthename.com/updates/update66.php
The biggest change is the addition of Devanagari text for Indian names! Now that most of the major alphabetic scripts (Greek, Cyrilic, Hebrew, Arabic, Devanagari) are dealt with, I'll be looking at Japanese and Chinese names next. Those two sections are pretty rough right now and need a lot of work.

Yay! :-D
I'm glad to see Japanese and Chinese names are going to be improved soon; I agree they're one of BtN's weakest areas.
I just have one question: Is Persian script on the list of things to add in the future?

Persian, Urdu, Thai, Tibetan... they'll all eventually get done, though it might take 10 years!
Glad you are keeping up the spirit, Mike :)
I got it from a book by Maneka Gandhi called Hindu Names.
Plus, you can look up the Sanskrit here:

Just type "mira" into the first text box.

Thanks for the update! Now if only I could read Devanagari text! Oh, and by the way, this is the greatest, most thorough naming site around. Keep up the good work!
FYI, you can click any Devanagari text in the database to get a step-by-step transcription.
