Grete / Grethe is the more correct Danish nn for it. It's a single standing name as well. Greta is, I think, more the Swedish nn of Margareta / Margaretha.Grete is prn GRE-téh. It's the same as with Grethe just two different ways of spelling it.Glad I can help you.- Charlie

Yes you're right, Greta is sometimes used as a nickname for Margareta (prn: mar-gah-RE-tah) in Sweden, and as a "real" name as well.
