I'd spell it Wieland as this is a legitimate German name. Perhaps your boyfriend would also like Waylon, which though I am not fond of as a name, does have positive connotations as it reminds me of Waylon Jennings, the country music legend.

I don't care for it. I kind of like Waylon, which is sort of similar.

I think if you spelled it Weiland then you would get a way-land prn. I would personally spell it Wyland, but I think it sounds too surnamey.

I pn Weiland like WIE-land, and Wyland is more WHY-land to me
