[Opinions] Malachi.
I have loved this name for quite a while, but I'm not sure if I'd ever be able to use. I want to know what type of person it brings to mind, and also (I know, this is horrible) what social class they'd be in.Siri

I used to like it very much. I associate the name more with the Bible/Jewish meaning than with Irish, unless of course it was spelt Malachy which would be completely different. I love the sound of it, so maybe some day it will be back on my list.

Malachi reminds me of Malasia,
You know the third world country,
Maybe they might live in Asia,
I can't imagine though what social class they'd be,The reminds me of foreign languages too,
Maybe you know what I mean,
That it just doesn't sounds right if their middle name was Lou,
But Malachi is irish from the way its spelt It isn't seen,It isn't seen that its irish,
right off the bat,
But for sure it not danish or polish like Tish,
If you thought about it you might just find that,It is a great name indeed,
And It would be nice for a nice person to me,
In my humble opinion I say they would be a great lead,
But I sure hope you don't make their brother's name Lee!Seija

I love it, though I do prefef Malachy. It does have strong Irish connotations for me. But at the same time I can picture a blonde blue eyed boy with the name Malachy.

I have no real stereotypes about the name because I've never met anyone with it. It doesn't seem lower-class to me, although I am vaguely aware of it seeming either Irish (and historically Irish immigrants in America are often considered working class), or perhaps Jewish, and I'd avoid using it for two reasons - the main one being, I'm neither Jewish nor Irish (at least not to any extent worth naming for); the other being, it makes sort of an oblique reference to Biblical prophecy -- which I think is a little touchy in the current world social climate, unless you have firm beliefs. I do like the sound of it, though. - chazda

I love Malachi too. I think of a handsome little boy, dark features and intillegent. :)

It seems very Irish to me, and probably a bit lower-class. Malachi would either get to be the dashing Irish chap who sweeps the pretty girl off her feet...or the pretty Irish girl's overprotective uncle. Or something like that, heh.I think that it's a nice name, though I wouldn't use it. Mal would be a very cool nickname, as well. Very, very nice, Siri!Array
