[Opinions] A ray of hope in the birth announcements today...
I found a pleasant surprise in this week's birth announcements for my county, which have been looking worse and worse as time goes on. In between two little girls, both of whom were called Camryn (one with sisters Kyndall and Payton) was a little boy who had been named Augustus James (Gus). Like a breath of fresh air... I suppose my excitement just goes to show how rare good (not to mention correctly spelled) names are becoming. WDYT?

I like Augustus James, if I was going to use Augustus as a first name I would probably pair it with Jon (my brother's name as I think Augustus Jon sounds good and I like the nn AJ. However my brother Chris like Augustine so I think I will leave that one for now.

Camryn and Augustus are good news,
That finally correctly spelled names are back,
But the battles not over so be prepared to lose,
Because mysterious and bizarre names are simply not in lack! But as correctly spelt names are mostly good,
Creative and Bizarre names sometimes are misunderstood,
Because of their spellings sometime sthe reason is unclear that they would do could,
Finally help us realize that the "correct" spellings are bizarre themselves and that they would,NOT be my or your first choice,
Like Hayley is correct,
But by the peoples voice,
Hailey is not the version of Hayley, but wrecked? So even though you are cheering,
Could this be good or a sign of lost creativity?,
For example you may have lost your earing,
But you wouldn't have because of liberty,And because of our liberty,
We live free,
To choose our names spelt like Lybirtee,
Now you see that this may be good for you and me!Seija!

Then why did you say . . .
Camryn and Augustus are good news,
That finally correctly spelled names are back,

?Perhaps you misunderstood - Rainmaker was celebrating "Augustus James" partly because it was sandwiched between the creative and gender-incorrect Camryns.

That's such a refreshingly awesome name! And I think I would have been shocked to see that in my paper too. I don't even bother looking at my newspapers announcements because they're all about "little hockey star Jayden" and "sweet princess Madison." I get really annoyed. Side note: Kyndall? WTF?

I know twin girls named Kamryn and Kyndall, if that doesn't beat all. :b
