[Opinions] Carlla?
This was the name of the nurse technician who took my spirometry today. She never said her name, but I saw it written on her name tag. It definitely had two Ls; I looked twice to make sure.I don't care for the spelling Carlla at all, but it certainly made me think, "Hm, that's interesting", albeit in a kre8iv sort of way.I do like Carla, being an underused traditional name that's not overly frilly or overly masculine, and sounds nice to boot.Miranda

I like Carla too -- it's one of those names I think of often and then shove aside because it's too 'ordinary' for my ego, I guess, at this point in my life, but I do really like it.The two L's make me want to say Car(ull)la - to draw out the L. But I suppose the point was to make it Carl - la instead of Car - la, and I can appreciate that, although the spelling is awkward. - chazda

Carlla just looks wrong to me - I want to pronounce the 'll' as a j (as in Spanish) or a ch-as-in-loch (as in Welsh)! KAR-ya or KAR-cha lol.I *love* Carla, partly because it's a family name (my great-Aunt in Holland).

Its interesting (though I prefer Carla) and I know this doesn't belong here (you can respond in the Lounge if you like, but I posted this below the drama and I was wondering if you saw it?
Subject: Re: Back from another spirometry
I hope I don't seem noisy, but may I ask why you are so tiny and have been in the hospital so much? What is a spirometry? Don't feel as though you have to answer, I didn't want to ask but I've noticed a couple of posts about different test and was just curious.

My moms name is Carla and I think Carlla with two L's is not bad, but rather unusual, for me like seeing Seija like Seijja...yeah...okay!
