It's a traditional name for girls born on Yom Kippur.

Which spelling do you prefer, Neila or Neilah?

I like it. I prefer the spelling Neila and the pronunciation NAY-lah.

If one so chooses, Neila could also easily work as a not-to-outrageous feminine form of Neil, if it's pronounced NEEL-ah.
