Mavis is pretty in an unconventional way. It has a 1920/1930s flare, and the central V gives it spice. I'm not fond of the more recent cartoon vampire association.

It's charming and full of moxie. I'm surprised by its popularity!

I have always enjoyed the name Mavis! I love how classy it sounds, that it's uncommon, and how it's related to nature. Mavis is a truly stunning name, in my book!

I prefer Maeve, but Mavis is a good second. Probably the best of the -is names, though Doris, Gladys and Janis don't provide much competition.

Don't like it, too old fashioned

I no longer see it as incredibly ugly, but Maeve is sweeter and more suited for a growing person. Mavis is more vintage and I'm picky about vintage names, as some of them sound "too old".
