I think it is unpleasant.

I think it's ugly. I think Millicent is stunning.

I do not find the two syllables to be compatible to my ears it starts soft and ends harsh. It is not a name that works for me.

I have a soft spot for it; I think that it sounds pretty. I also love the "ld" bit and unique "-d" ending!

It’s ok. It’s better than Millicent but not a name I’d use for a child. I do love the nicknames Milly and Millie.

Better than Millicent, for sure. I almost like it, but there are personal reasons to avoid it like the plague.

I love it. It’s got an old-fashioned witchy feel to it. It was a contender for the short list if I had managed to get pregnant.

Don't like it at all, very old fashioned

Mildred just reminds me of mildew and dread combined! Not a wonderful image! I find the name dull and frumpy. Millie / Milly I love though and would much prefer it.

My thoughts exactly!

I always felt like Mildred was funky-gothic. It's got great personality. And there's always Millie for the faint hearted! I like Mildred a lot.

I love it! It’s at once elegant & noble and jazzy & retro and poetically dreary. I’d use it!

I used to hate Mildred, but it has grown on me considerably (since I started appreciating harsher Saxon & Nordic names in general, e.g. Edith & Astrid). I must say, though, that I prefer the nickname Dreda to Millie / Milly.

Another perfectly fine name I don't see why everyone hates. Sure, it sounds a bit dull, but not "mildewy" like people say. Like Myrtle, it's cloudy, which makes it all the lovelier in my opinion. And Millie is a dignified nickname.
