Name Ziel
Hi,I am looking for help. Back when I was a teeneager I fell in love with the name Ziel (I think that's how it's spelled. I never actually saw it written just heard it.) pronounced zī-el or zī-ul. The family I learned it from was a converted Jewish family. Ziel was their 4th son. All their children had Hebrew or Yiddiah names so I assumed Ziel was too. We want to name our son Ziel but cannot find the meaning of the name. Help?

I haven't asked his permission, but there is an Israeli poster who would be very likely to know about Ziel. Perhaps a personal message to Ohad Yigal would get you an answer.

Where in the world did this family live? Perhaps this was a short form of Aziel or Uzziel (both of which you can find in this site's main database.)

They lived at Camp Shoshanna in New York and then we met them years later in Upstate New York.
