Probably the same as Harnett, which is a variant of the male given name Arnald/Arnold. The first component means "eagle", I forget what the second means.
Just to confuse matters, Harnett and Harnedy are found in Ireland as English language forms of the surname O hAirtneada, which is usually Englished as Hartnett. This means a descendant of a man named (I'm guessing) Artnead, but what that means I cannot say.
