But I don't think the letter Y magically makes masculine names "feminine". Arbitrarily adding a Y to a masculine name usually just results in the name looking misspelled to me, not "feminine".
Now, Carlina or Carline does look and sound feminine to me. The former could be pronounced KAHR-lin-a, kahr-LIN-a, KAHR-leen-a, or kahr-LEEN-a (I would go with the first or last one); the latter could be pronounced kahr-LEEN or kahr-LIEN.
