[Facts] Re: Brunhilde?
in reply to a message by Deb
Hi Deb!
Do you need the _German_ pronunciation? In German the name can be written Brunhilde or Brünhilde but the pronunciation is not the same.
Brunhilde: broon-hill-deh (stress on the second syllable)
Brünhilde: brüün-hill-deh (stress on the second syllable)
The u and the ü are long vowels but in spoken language they often seem to be short because they are not stressed. !!You clearly hear the e at the end!! If you don't want that - there are other forms as well: Brunhild and Brünhild. ;-)
The pronunciation in other languages e.g. French or Swedish will be different!
Regards, Satu
