If you're going to change the pronounciation of a name ( and yes, it is pr. On-ree), then change the spelling too. That way you don't confuse eveyone and butcher a perfectly good name.

AgreedIt annoys me when people butcher a pronunciation to suit their own tastes. I am Irish and I just see it as wrong and a bit of a slap in the face when people try and change the pronunciation (I have noticed it being done to Aislinn/Aisling a lot...people seem to have decided AYS-lin sounds nicer :/)
Anyway, I think if you change the pronunciation, change the spelling because frankly you would have already lost the legitimacy of the name.

I understand how it might be irritating, but it is nothing "against" the culture. I happen to be Irish and am very proud of my heritage which is why I use so many Irish names for my list. I saw the name and at first glance misinterpreted the pronounciation.
